Aldaw Indigenous Advocacy and Networking
Aldaw Indigenous Advocacy and Networking is an advocacy group that promotes the rights of the indigenous people of Palawan. One of their main focuses is to preserve the land from mining and other extracting of resources that takes place in Palawan. They are very concerned with the preservation of Palawan and its resources for the indigenous people as well as to prevent destruction of the environment. Aldaw’s campaigning and activism is done through the use of media such as videos on YouTube and Vimeo as well as using Geo-tagging to track the impact of the extracting companies and bring awareness to the public. Aldaw would benefit from this project because it is another reason to emphasize the importance of preservation of Palawan’s natural environment because of the economic benefits that can result from the eco-tourism of a well-preserved coral reef as well as bringing awareness to the rare and vulnerable natural beauty off the coast of Palawan. Conservation International - Philippines
CI Philippines helps to ensure the integrity of ecological processes in these areas by working to create protected areas or networks of protected areas and ensuring that the most effective governance or management systems are in place. CI's work in Palawan demonstrates how ecosystem services benefit humanity and how protected area management that values and protects nature’s assets supports human well-being. Daluyon Beach and Mountain Resort
Daluyon Beach and Mountain Resort is located on the coast of the sea Palawan shares with China. It is a popular hotel located in Puerto Princesa City. From their website, it is evident that the resort maximizes on its close proximity to many natural wonders such as exploring the beaches, mangroves, and rivers. However, they do not include any information of visiting the coral reefs. Therefore, the resort would benefit from our ecotourism venture because it would attract business to their hotel by adding a new and exciting activity for guests. Also, since Daluyon Beach and Mountain Resort is a top-rated hotel, it is attractive to possible Chinese patrons, which will in turn draw in eco-tourism that will support and promote the preservation of the coral reefs.
